Dunn's River Falls: "Had a blast at the falls!" - Just got back last week from a cruise. We visited Ocho Rios and went to the falls. They are beautiful and we had a blast climbing them. Our guides were very nice and made sure everyone had fun. If you are going to Jamaica don't miss the falls.

Dunn's River Falls: "The Falls were the highlight of our cruise!!!" - Hands down, the Falls was the highlight of our family's recent trip to the Caribbean. We did a lot of things, but kept saying the Falls were #1. My 60 year old sister cannot swim and is fearful of water, but was determined to do it and she did. Bring your own aquashoes, give your tour guide your camera, cause you will be too busy climbing to take pictures. The DVD of our group climbing was $40, but worth every penny. Our two guides were very attentive, but we heard later that some guides left their groups and they were stuck climbing the falls themselves, or depending on other. If you have any other questions, feel free to e-mail me with a subject line "Dunn River Falls."

Dunn's River Falls: "Loved the Falls" - The falls were the best part of our trip. I will do it again whenever I return to Jamaca. Although I am in fairly good shape, I am by no means an overly active person and I found the hike up to be easy. Do watch where you step. I landed in a hole and have a bruised shin and my husband did the same in a different hole and skined his leg up bad enough to need a trip to the nurses station for bandages afterward. Make sure you take a water proof camera and the guides will take photos of you during stopping points the entire trip.

Dunn's River Falls: "What an exhillerating experience!!!! A MUST DO!!!" - It was an absolute fantastic experience! I would highly recommend visitings the Dunn's River Falls. If you go to Jamaica and don't go to the falls you have truly missed out on one of the greatest experiences! Once you get to the top you really feel like you have accomplished something!!! The tour guides are wonderful and how do they ever remember which camera belongs to which person? But they do and the pictures turned out awesome. I would return to Jamaica just for the falls. Truly worth it and unforgetable!!! Thanks for an experience that I'll never forget! Lisa Cook --- St.Thomas, ON Canada

Jamaica's national treasure. Dunn's River Falls! Land of rivers and springs - "Xayamaca" a name given by the Arawak indians. One of the most beautiful spots on the island had the Spaniards naming this area "Las Chorreras", the waterfalls or springs.

Jamaica's national treasure. Dunn's River Falls! Land of rivers and springs - "Xayamaca" a name given by the Arawak indians.Dunn's River Falls is a growing phenomenon, as it continuously regenerates itself with deposits of travertine rock, the result of precipitation of calcium carbonate from the river, as it flows over the falls. The small dome-shaped cataracts are usually associated with thermal spring activity found in limestone caves. This, combined with its location near to the sea, gives Dunn's River the distinction of being the only one of its kind in the Caribbean, if not the world making Dunn's River Falls very unique.

With a history dating back as far as 1657, Dunn's River Falls is believed to be the site of the famous battle of "Las Chorreras", fought between the Spanish and the English for possession of the island. The English won, and under British rule "Las Chorreras" was first owned by Charles Pryce. It later became part of the 276 acre Belmont property, which was acquired by Government in 1972, to provide for future development of recreational and park facilities.

The Belmont property was entrusted to the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) for the people of Jamaica. It is managed by the St. Ann Development Company (SADCo), a regional subsidiary of the UDC.

the perfect environment for fun and relaxation for the whole entire family is the Dunn's River Falls Park. With a mix of modern facilities and rustic charm of a the natural setting newer roads have been built for easier access to the upper reaches of the falls along with increased parking and picnic facilities providing terracing and decks allowing scenic views of the falls as well as the distant horizon.

Climb the falls in a human chain led by experienced Falls Guides. Pause at the 'massage parlour' and experience the soothing effects of the water as it cascades to the sea.

For the less brave they can view the activities from the safe vantage point of the terrace or deck. You have just found a delightful new discovery in Dunn's River Falls Park as it is the perfect environment for fun and relaxation for the whole entire family.
